April Curriculum: Spirit Guides and Witches

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

After learning how to feel energy and care for our energetic world in March, this month the plan is to start creating relationships with our spirit guides and finding a witch path that resonates with you.

This is one of my favorite subjects to explore and know that you can play around with this over and over. You might notice that your intuition might already feel drawn somewhere or to a certain spirit guide. Or you might have no idea what spirit guides are or what path you’re drawn to. No matter where you’re at now, you’ll always find where you’re meant to be.

This month isn’t about choosing labels. It’s about noticing resonance and being open to following your intuition.

The Energetic & Seasonal Context of April

April carries early to mid spring energy. Growth is visible now. What was subtle in March begins to take shape this month.

Energetically, April often brings:

  • Curiosity and connection
  • A desire to understand identity and belonging
  • A mix of excitement and vulnerability

On the Wheel of the Year, we sit between the equinox and Beltane, the peak of spring. The world is fully awake after the winter.

Astrologically, April often moves from the initiatory spark of Aries into the grounded steadiness of Taurus. There is both exploration and anchoring available to us.

This makes April a supportive month for relationship building… with guides, with witchy archetypes, and with yourself.

The Core Theme of April

Exploring Spiritual Identity Through Relationship

  • Spirit guides can be symbolic, ancestral, energetic, psychological, or intuitive
  • Witch paths are just a piece of the puzzle, but can help give your path structure
  • Owning the changes that naturally come up in our spiritual journeys – whether it’s new guides or a movement from one path to another

We are learning how to belong to ourselves.

Week One: What Are Spirit Guides?

What We’re Exploring This Week

This week is foundational. You might have never worked with a spirit guide before or maybe you have a whole team you’re familiar with. This week I want to visit what a spirit guide is and some ways you might connect with them.

Spirit Guides show up differently for everyone. For some, this may mean ancestors. For others, angels, deities, nature spirits, inner wisdom, or even symbolic archetypes. Whatever feels true for you is the right answer.

This week I have a few blog posts that dive into Spirit Guides more:

Grimoire Page for the Week

Page Title Idea: My Spirit Guides

What to include:

  • As you meet and connect with your spirit guides keep track of who they are, how they show up for you, what their purpose is on your journey, and any other information about them that would be helpful to remember

This page will likely start as a draft and be revised as often as you get more information about your guides.

Ritual or Practice for the Week

Practice: Ask to Receive A Sign from a Guide

Light a candle or sit quietly.

As a guide to send a sign to you sometime throughout the day. Ask them to make it clear.

Now…be open to receiving whatever sign it is without actively digging for it. Trust that the sign will present itself to you.

This is about awareness, not summoning.

Week Two: Meeting Your Spirit Guides

What We’re Exploring This Week

This week, we’re connecting deeper with a Spirit Guide.

Meeting your spirit guides should be an easy, pressure-free experience.

Connection might feel like remembering. It might feel symbolic. It might feel subtle.

We’re practicing openness without expectation.

What to include:

  • Symbols, animals, figures, or energies that you’ve received as a sign from a guide
  • How your guides send you signs
  • Dreams, recurring themes, or intuitive nudges
  • How your body feels when something resonates and you know your guide is reaching out

Week Three: Researching Types of Witches

What We’re Exploring This Week

There are many types of witches and spiritual paths… kitchen witches, green witches, lunar witches, hedge witches, eclectic witches, ancestral paths, devotional paths, and more.

Rather than choosing one today, focus on a few that resonate with you or you’re feeling pulled towards.

What qualities do they emphasize? What values do they hold? What practices do they prioritize?

This week is about gathering information, not making commitments.

Page Title Idea: Paths of a Witch

What to include:

  • Witch types that catch your attention
  • What specifically draws you to them
  • What feels aligned
  • What feels performative or forced
  • Patterns you notice in your preferences

This page is like a collage of your curiosities.

Ritual or Practice for the Week

Practice: Archetype Reflection

Choose one path that feels interesting.

Sit with the qualities associated with it.

Ask:

  • What part of me feels seen by this?
  • What part of me feels disconnected?

Let your response stay nuanced.

Here’s an old post that might be helpful narrowing down some types of witches:

Week Four: What Path Resonates?

What We’re Exploring This Week

This week is integration.

After learning about spirit guides and researching different witch paths, I’m bringing everything back inward.

Resonance is quieter than excitement. It feels steady. Comfortable. True.

You might find that you blend several paths. You might find that you resist labels entirely. You might realize your practice is already formed.

This week is about honoring what feels authentic right now.

Grimoire Page for the Week

Page Title Idea: My Path

What to include:

  • Practices that feel most natural to you
  • Spiritual relationships that feel supportive
  • Values that guide your path
  • How you identify (if you do)

Leave space to revise this later. Identity evolves.

Ritual or Practice for the Week

Practice: Owning Your Identity

Journal if choosing a path feels aligned for you right now. If it doesn’t journal why not. Whether selecting a path resonates or not, what can you take from different paths to move you closer to where you’d like to be within your practice?

Extra Exploration If You Feel Curious

If you have additional space this month, you might explore:

  • Gods, goddesses, or deities from mythologies that intrigue you
  • Angel symbolism and spiritual protection archetypes
  • Animal guides and symbolic correspondences
  • Nature spirits and land based spirituality
  • Inner child work as a form of guidance
  • Your higher self or future self as a guide

These are other types of guides that might resonate with you.

Journal Prompts for April

Return to these anytime:

  • How do I receive signs from my guides?
  • Which guides are nudging to work with me now?
  • Which witch paths am I naturally aligned with?
  • Which witch paths ask me to step a little bit out of my comfort zone?

Book Recommendations for April

Here’s a few books if you’re looking for how to connect deeper with your guides or if you’re looking for more information about paths of a witch. If you have recommendations let me know in the comments below.

Next Month

April reminds us that we’re not on this journey alone.

Connection can be symbolic. Identity can be fluid. Guidance can be subtle.

Next month, we’ll begin exploring divination as a way of listening and responding.

you’re doing great
